CONCEPTION in shOrt...

“*tinee tiLLies” are 10” to 12” handmade one*of*a*kind old fashioned dollies fabricated of stoneware clay, supple leather, angora and antique cloth. Each are individually sculpted with kil fired stoneware boots, hands and heads. Some are made to hold objects such as looking glasses, axes, butcher knives and tomahawks. Once i have sculpted heads, hands and boots, they are bisque fired for 5 hours and allowed to cool. Next, i individually glaze each doll piece with handcrafted mineral glazes, and once again, fire in the kil... this time for 8 hours, to cone6. Finally, hand painted glass eyes and angora wigs which i lovingly crochet and dye in cold winter months, are assembled. The head, hands and boots are then attached to their leather bodies that i have stitched and stuffed with heart and charms. i fashion each torso from choice leather in colours complimentary to the head and hands. All “tinee tillies” have tits and slits, and are hand signed. The number of each doll is embossed at the base of the neck under the leather, as is the “kilstudios©”. Each doll’s clothes are hand dyed to be hand sewn and are of antique wedding dresses found abandoned or gifted to me by friends. i painstakingly scour this century for last centuries’ ribbons and silks, which is becoming moRe of a challenge every year. No two “tiLLies” are ever alike, but i have made triplets , as well as sister dolls for special order. I waiver shipping fees for all first time adoptees within North America. Whilst, presently, “tinee tillies” are offered for purchase, please do browse the entire site for examples of what “tillies” & all other dolls, such as “little leather ladees”,“madams” &“bebes”,“belles” &“poppets” can all look like, and what i have shown in galleries and sold in the past. “tinee tiLLies” have been available for the past 4 years. i have made about 76 of these small intimate dolls thus far. they can be made to order with your choice of hair, skin and eye colour. In total i have estimated an approximate 33+ hours are spent on each “tinee tiLLie” from conception to send, albeit, i work on about 6 at one time, and always suffer a broken heart at our parting! “tinee tiLLies” are $222 each~“tinee tiLLies” with an object in hand are $333. Remember, shipping is free for all first time buyers in North America!
